Newman Sound Men's Choir is pleased to be performing in beautiful Twillingate on Saturday, June 29th at 7:30 at South Side United Church Museum with our very special guest, Twillingate's own Irene Bridger. Admission is by donation. You will be treated to a vast array of some of our favourite songs spanning classical, folk and pop music. We have something for everyone and cordially invite you to come with family and friends to hear and see one of the world's finest men's choirs, Newfoundland and Labrador's very own, Newman Sound Men's Choir.

Under the direction of Kellie Walsh, David Chafe and Jennifer Hart was formed in St. John's, Newfoundland in 2005 and has since earned provincial, national and international awards. This wonderful community choir of experienced singers was named Most Promising New Choir in Canada in the 2006 CBC National Choir Competition and followed through on that promise by making it to the final round in the 2008 CBC competition. In 2011, Newman Sound released their debut CD, "The Green and Salty Days", a collection of folk songs from Newfoundland, Canada, and U.K. which has been widely received with critical acclaim and popularity. The album earned Newman Sound the MusicNL award for Classical Artist of the Year in 2011. In 2012, the choir was the first from Newfoundland and Labrador to enter one of the largest and most prestigious choir competitions in the world, The World Choir Games, taking place that year in Cincinnati. Newman Sound rose above some extraordinary competition from around the world to be awarded Champion Male Chamber Choir, the first Canadian choir to ever win at this competition.
