The Celtic Fiddlers are a group of approximately 12 young people ranging in age from 14 to 22 years whose main goal is to keep Newfoundland and Irish Music alive in the youth of our province. They were formed in 1993 under the direction of the very dedicated Korona Brophy, and have been touted as true Newfoundland ambassadors of traditional music by the Department of Tourism. The Celtic Fiddlers are a performing group that is accompanied of drums including the bodhran, a keyboard, guitar, bass, Irish tin whistle, banjo, cajone, accordion and mandolin. Through weekly rehearsals they enjoy learning new pieces of music, especially the songs and jigs and reels of their Irish ancestors.

The Celtic Fiddlers have performed at many functions including benefits, concerts, weddings, funerals, fundraising events, conferences, folk festivals, dinner theatres, and Canada Day celebrations both in Newfoundland and Ottawa. They recently returned from Ireland where they were invited by the Festival of the Sea to perform in Clonmel, Waterford, Dungarven and Carrick-On-Suir. It was one of their most impressive tours!
